The 54th Laguna Boom!!

The Laguna SSS series was introduced to the US PGA tour at the Hawaii series this year, and it has gained very high evaluations not only among the fans, but also tour players. Last week, Jim Furyk dug out a carbon steel Laguna Welded Long Neck which Scotty made for him in 2000 and won the tournament for the first time in 2 or 3 years. Shigeki Maruyama once used to use the same type of putter as Jim used last week. If you look back, it seems Maruyama had the best putting when he used that putter. Also Scotty produced a few several Laguna putters with M23 stamps for the Japanese market. With that history, the Laguna is revived from this year with new specs as the Laguna 2010. The material shifted from carbon to SSS! Adjustable weight is equipped on the sole and it is very flexible and quick to adjust to any needs from tour players. The head shape is also slightly modified. Scotty says that he was able to make it so that the ball will not turn left, but melt and sit onto the green. At this time the 1.5, 1.6, 2, and 3 models are provided for the tour, but it would be great if in the near future the long neck version would be introduced, and is worth requesting to the studio.  On a final note Davis Love III, a stubborn Newport user has switched to the Laguna 2.
